Vista Group has left an impressive mark on the entertainment sphere. Although the group has managed to secure a strong customer base, it faced significant challenges in migrating its customers to the cloud. Also, it couldn’t support a hybrid platform comprised of on-premises solutions, a multi-cloud setup including AWS and Azure, and self-hosted resources.

Vista Group evaluated all of the full-stack observability players in the space that could fulfil its monitoring requirements. But what made it choose Site24x7? Andre Potgieter, head of cloud operations at Vista Group, said it’s because of the fair pricing and excellent customer support the group received from start to finish.

The IT teams at Vista Group have heavily relied on AppLogs, a Site24x7 log collection and management solution, as it sends alerts to the Level 1 Support team if there’s an incident or event. These teams called Site24x7 their first line of defence due to its log analysis, anomaly detection, and troubleshooting capabilities.

One outstanding feature the group has optimised is external monitoring, which has helped it monitor its services from an external data centre and allowed it to know whether it was performant or not. This off-the-shelf product empowered the group to achieve fine-grain monitoring and reporting.

When asked about his experience working with the tool, Potgieter said that he loves the simplicity of AppLogs as the effort the Operations team spent educating the Technical team was minimal. He added that with configuration rules, the onboarding time was considerably reduced, allowing the sysadmins to set the threshold on a single MSP centrally and then apply it across multiple MSPs globally.

Staying transparent and offering timely updates to customers is crucial to enhancing brand reliability and ensuring business continuity. To keep its customers informed on the statuses of its platforms, Vista Group has leveraged Site24x7 StatusIQ, a tool that shows whether the platforms are operational or down via a status page. The group has used this tool as a communication medium to forecast maintenance, proactively plan, and alert customers to any outages, performance issues, or maintenance.

With this tool, customers have the freedom to subscribe or unsubscribe to alerts, customise notifications to focus on particular monitors, and receive notifications via texts or emails. This customisation has helped sysadmins save time, avoid unwanted notifications, and focus on other business-critical tasks.

Reset passwords like never before

People tend to forget or lose their passwords, then reach out to their help desk team for support. Vista Group experienced a similar issue where it had to deal with its customers’ password reset requests, overwhelming the team with IT tickets. To resolve this issue and lessen the workload of the Help Desk team, the group sought a product that could manage and secure passwords and offer complete control over identities.

With the implementation of ADSelfService Plus, creating password reset tickets became a thing of the past, and the team has been relieved of stress. The tool’s intuitive interface has been easy for the group’s employees and customers to use and has empowered them to reset their passwords swiftly without bothering the Help Desk team. As a result, Vista Group has streamlined its IT processes, and its productivity has grown multifold.
